SF Gateâ??s Mark Morford is one columnist who can make me chuckle even before reading his column. Sometimes just reading the title of his article will make me laugh out loud.

Todayâ??s gem was â??Hang Up Or Get Off The Plane, Using cell phones on flights: Great idea, or the last, horrible gasp of human decency?â? Add to that two advertisements flanking his article, one for cell phones and one selling great deals on airline tickets, and I needed more than a moment to compose myself before reading the article.

I can imagine many people relate to Morfordâ??s words. In fact, per the survey on another page also surrounded by cell phone ads, at the moment 80% of respondents feel that phones on planes are obnoxious.

It would be interesting to have another poll to see how many people agree with Mark Morford that â??we as a species are just so wondrously, incredibly -- what do you call it? Oh yes: boring.â?
